España

I am not the kind of girl who goes on holiday then sits in British pubs eating chips and cheese and drinking Smirnoff Ices. If you take me away then I am the kind of girl who likes to embrace the culture. I like to soak up the atmosphere. I want to eat their food. I want to drink what they drink. It just so happened that I really love tapas. And have a serious appreciation for a jug of juicy sangria. I am nothing if not dedicated. And on my recent trip to Marbella I even managed to stay off social media.

Mostly...

But I did learn lots of things in Spain. Like Gambas Pil Pil is my new favourite food. For life. That Spanish people are some of the friendliest in the world. That Spanish Mama's are the cutest and kindest to their babies, even when you can see they are driving them nuts...

I learned that 3 trips within a week to the Haagan Daz cafe is totally acceptable when on holiday. That if I lived abroad I would exist only on seafood (and cava).  But that drinking cava everyday can give a girl some serious heartburn...

I learned that when there's a huge pool and a beautiful beach both within yards of your back door, I will mostly choose the beach. That long walks and stupid conversations with your feet in the waves make pretty happy memories. That I cannot drink red wine in the heat. That I am convinced that even if I was a millionaire I would still be a high street girl.

Oh but apparently I am an Aston Martin girl.

You learn a lot about cars and football when drinking in Puerto Banus...

Can I go back now please?
